2017 is seeing a rise in the R&B scene with artists such as SZA, Daniel Caesar and Brent Faiyaz blessing us with their amazing sounds. But Long Island native Mac Ayres is a total breath of fresh air.

The 21-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer has a blend of jazz, R&B and soulful grooves which creates such a sophisticated and laid back that can not be missed.

Growing up in a small village in Long Island, Ayres came from a non-musical family and a town where everyone listened to Billy Joel. He later moved to New York where he was exposed to the sound he creates today with influences greatly from D’Angelo, Stevie Wonder and J Dilla. Mac Ayres is not just an artist but an amazing musician, he started playing the keyboard when he was 11 and perfected his craft also in the piano, guitar and bass; incorporating these sounds in his music as much as possible.

Ayres is also part of Fête Records – an emerging record label home to artists such as Psalm, Mo Vibez and many many more. He joined this label after the release of his hit track ‘easy‘ which is easily one of my favourite songs of this year! This track is now featured on his debut EP Drive Slow’ (2017) which was released under Fête Records in August; it was written, produced and performed by the man himself.

2017 has been a great year for Ayres and he is starting it off even better with his Europe tour visiting Berlin, Stolkhom and of course London on the 17th of January 2018 at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen – Buy Tickets Here!

Cannot wait for all the new jams that Ayres will bring in the New Year! Exciteddddd!!!
