2016 was a great year for music but just a shit year overall, so I’m super excited to move on and prepare for all the great things about to go down.

Following the list of my 16 artists that made my 2016 – here is a list of 10 artists to watch out for in 2017…

Better late than never, make sure you do not sleep on these guys!

Jesse James Solomon

Jesse from SE is definitely not the stereotypical rapper from South London. His sound and lyrical content is something of its own and very special in the music he delivers.

Favourite Track: Jesse James Solomon – The Ride Home

Poppy Ajudha

Hailing from South London, Poppy Ajudha delivers a sound of modern Jazz and Soul in her music. Her vocal abilities are beyond her years and she has a beautiful, refreshing tone that suddenly makes you start thinking about the life you wish you had lol.

Favourite Track: Poppy Ajudha – Peace of Mind

J-Flowz

North London Artist J-Flowz is one of my TOP 5 PERFORMERS IN LONDON. He is absolutely amazing… and he does not disappoint with his musical content neither. He has a couple things in the pipeline for 2017 so make sure you keep your eyes locked!

Favourite Track: J-Flowz – Comfortable

Jerome Thomas

This artist is definitely one to look out for in 2017. With his EP release, ‘Conversations’ in December 2016, Jerome Thomas – East London, has set a name for himself in the music scene. The EP has a smooth blend of R&B, Soul and Jazz to highlight his incredible talents and vocals.

Favourite Track: Jerome Thomas – Company

TaliWhoah

Singer-songwriter Taliwhoah has been killing the UK and US with her sound. I wouldn’t solely describe her music as R&B… but she definitely has that sauce! Back and forth from LA, she is still creating great music, dope videos and performances all over.  With talks of her new EP entitled – New Wave Order on the horizon, we are definately excited to hear what Tali brings to 2017.

Favourite Track: Taliwhoah – Alright

Suelily

I can’t get over how amazing this girls voice is… South London based Suelily has musical influences from Erykah Badu and Amy Winehouse and this is definitely displayed through her sound. After opening up for A2′ at his headline show at XOYO in  November, I know she’s got some hidden tracks and I can’t wait till they are released.

Favourite Track: Suelily – Heaven’s Gate

Knucks

After such a sick year, Knucks is only getting started! His work ethic has definitely been seen from each of his banging tracks, to his amazing videos, to his features on MTV, GUAP and Spotify as being one of the UK’s dopest artists!  We can’t get enough!

Favourite Track: Knucks – 21 Candles

Airborn Gav

East London based Airnorn Gav has got the girls all up in their feelings with his music. With the release of his EP – ‘Terminal Free’ –  he displays his sound of R&B and Rap through this 4 track compilation. He manages to do the both perfectly, not just sticking to one sound, but showing he can do it all!

Favourite Track: Airborn Fav – Lala

VB

Zone 17 member VB has blessed us with banger after banger. He released his EP – ‘Pour Some More’ in April 2016 and showed his diversity with the smooth tracks with Suelily to rap melodies with Baseman. He has been the talk of the town with his performances all around London and this isn’t about to stop now.

Favourite Track: VB (ft SueLily)  – Nothing More

ZULU

Zuluuuuuubabaaaaa! Now what can I say about this guy! I have been waiting to hear music solely from Zulu for years now and 2017 is his year! Member of Orph Gang, Zulu has always stood out for me with his amazing voice. It is actually out of this world. First hearing him perform alongside Kojey Radical in 2013, he is now blessing us with his solo tracks! With nothing being out just yet, I got to hear some amazingness at the ‘Off Balance Live’ show in January and he is absolutely incredible. I cannot wait till all the tracks actually come out. We waiting!

Favourite Track: Zulu – Follow
