Brilliant… Slowthai is just brilliant!

I absolutely love what the UK is breeding at the moment, a lot of artists are saying fuck the mainstream, fuck whats popular – they are doing their own thing and totally KILLING IT!

Slowthai – Real name Tyron Frampton – born and bred in Northampton where he grew up with the grime and garage scene in his town. His music is heavily influenced by this, yet he puts his own spin to this sound. He grew up watching alot of Kerrang! (a rock and roll music channel) and with the influence of this and growing up in Northampton – Slowthai has truly become a unique character of his own which standout greatly in the music scene.

His stage name and the way he portrays himself through his music is the total opposite from what we would think. His name was given to him through his mates “Everyone used to call me slow because I mumble my words sometimes, the mandem used to call me slow. Slow Ty.” (CLASH Magazine) and he also describes himself as an “introvert,” but his punkish energy, sick lyricism and rebellious mannerisms are all released through his music.

It is great that Slowthai has found his outlet through music, every aspect of what he does is well thought through and he is brilliant at what he does. He has some of the best video directors, ‘The Rest’ – also hailing from Northmapton – working alongside him producing some of the best visuals coming out of the UK.

Slowthai is continuously growing – if you don’t know him now – get to know!

The last EP he released – ‘I WISH I WISH’ – was released in 2017 so we definitely have something special set for us soon 😉
